Empowerment XIV is a community outreach within our studio that helps to reach, equip, and build up women and girls- teenagers and up. Miss Krissy is the instructor for the class, and after working with Women in Need and other experiences saw a need for women to learn real-world self-defense skills, as well as giving them the tools to find and use their voice in uncomfortable situations.
Empowerment XIV offers four components to its education:
About the instructor:
Krissy Marchewka- Girls Self-Defense/ Empowerment and Holistic Health Coach
Miss Krissy’s passion for self-defense began after attending a women’s self-defense seminar in 2009. The class changed her life. Shortly after, she began her formal training at Evolution Self Defense training under Jordan Figgins and eventually became an instructor. She spent many years of her life devoted to make lives better for the women and children in her community.
In 2016, she took an advocate training course with Women In Need . She studied domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse and counseling techniques. It was during that time that she saw a need to combine her experiences to offer specialty classes for females. Krissy is a certified holistic health coach (IIN 2014). She is also certified in confidentiality, is a mandated reporter and has child abuse and FBI clearances.
Krissy developed a program especially designed for females and the threats they face. The course teaches others to develop their confidence, self-assurance and empowerment to become their own first responder. She is currently working on obtaining a pink belt in the Gracie BJJ, Women Empowered course.
Miss Krissy’s program was designed to motivate and inspire females to become healthier, confident and protected. Her classes help improve self-esteem through self-defense and awareness. She designed her program to empower females on how to avoid becoming victims, establish boundaries, and move with confidence.
